Principal Consultant background

At the helm is the captain of the establishment, Mr. Ahmad Bukhari. He is the Principal Consultant of 360degree SmartSolutions, a niche hospitality management company that specializes in providing advice, coaching, direction and hospitality management consulting services.

 An experienced international hotelier, Ahmad Bukhari has held multiple senior positions in operations and development of various hotels locally and internationally. He has contributed to the success of a many major chain hotels and resorts.

Ahmad Bukhari’s working experience spans across Malaysia, Bangladesh and China ranging from mid management to senior management position, as General Manager of hotels & resorts. Thus far, he has accrued more than 18 years of experience in a senior management position. Among renowned hospitality establishments that he has worked for are the Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn, Hyatt and also he was a lecturer in Marketing, Culinary Arts and Food Service Management at the School of Hotel and Catering Management in MARA Institute of Technology (now known as University Technology Mara) in Shah Alam, Selangor.

With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, he has gone through the ups and downs in the hotel business that has exposed him to successes and great achievements in the industry. All these experiences have equipped him with the knowledge and skills to enable him to steer and implement various processes and strategies to any projects involved.

As a hands-on and experienced General Manager, he led his teams to numerous successes. In 2010, while in Bangladesh, the hotel that he managed had recorded the highest Gross Operating Profit (GOP) that was ever achieved over 27 years of operation of the property.

Another example was in the People’s Republic of China, a newly opened resort hotel was voted as the ‘Best New Opened Resort in China 2012’ by the Golden Pillow Organization. Within three months of opening, the hotel managed to record its first GOP. Later, the hotel’s ranking climbed up to the top, at number one position, in the competitive set ranking, just after a short period of time.

A visionary individual himself, he is firmly set on integrity, development of people in fulfilling and enriching their lives, focusing on work process while supporting his clients realising their goals and investments.

Ahmad studied in the USA and holds an MBA in Global Business Leadership with concentration in International Trade and also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Service Management; both are from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island. At home, he graduated with a Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Service Management from the Mara Institute of Technology, Shah Alam. Beside, he also has attended various trainings, conferences and seminars globally.

During his tenure as General Manager, he was actively involved as the members of SKAL Bangladesh, Bangladesh-American Chamber of Commerce, Vice President and Executive Committee (Destination Management) of Malaysian Hotel Association (MAH-Penang Chapter), Executive Committee Penang Tourism Action Council, the President of Labuan Hotel Association as well as member of the Labuan Tourist Association, to name a few.
